In the last year or two Ive noticed a massive shift in how people play games. I'm not just talking about hardcore gamers...Of course those of us that have a hobby in the field will always have a dedicated computer or console to play the games we know and love...But I'm talking about the general public here. A new class of gamer, the "Casual" gamer is among us.

Now I love my phone as much as the next tech head...but when I forked up the cash to get myself a nice android phone I was astounded. I had owned smart phones before; Palm treos, and other fantastic phones, but I had been out of the game for a while. Its amazing what can change in just one or two years. The first couple of hours I had my android phone though, I could not put the thing down. I literally laid there on the couch and messed with settings, installed apps, played around with pretty much every little thing I could change or modify, but it didn't stop there. I went online and found a whole new world of modding, rooting, and custom firmware that let you do anything from overclock your phone's CPU, to tether its internet connection.
Now Ive said all of this to make a point: Phones aren't just phones anymore. They are very quickly becoming a prime source of multimedia for the end user...and a primary piece of entertainment today is gaming. The android platform, along with Iphone and the newly introduced Windows Phone 7 are going to be a massive market percentage of gaming in the coming years, and anyone waiting around for the next big thing should take a leap on this one. Phones are the future.
